The 'Mankini' - men's swimming trunks with side straps which extend over the wearer's shoulders - has become a huge summer hit on website amazon.co.uk.
The swimwear, made famous by comedian Sacha Baron Cohen in 'Borat: The Movie', was modelled by a member of the British men's silver medal winning Olympic team in a parody video. The video sees the eight man team singing Frank Sinatra's 'My Way' with one member wearing a mankini.
Senior toy buyer at Amazon.co.uk, Paul Sanders, said: "With the success of Britain's Olympians in the pool, we expected to see a rise in swimwear sales, but the Mankini's success has taken us by surprise. Look out for Mankinis on a beach near you this summer."
