Wanting a baby when the other isn't quite ready....

I think it is time me and my man started trying for a baby but he says not for another year or two. Having said that, I take the depo injection (ouch) and that would take about 12 months for my fertility to return anyway once off it (which runs out in November).

How can I convince, or at least suggest, that starting to try in November won't necessarily mean instant baby?

When I posted this my boyfriend wasn't ready and wanted to wait 3-4years, he has now said he wants to start trying early next year so fingers crossed yours may be the same.

Lol mine said the same thing, in fact he went and spoke to his mum then aproached me about it, I had been suggesting it for ages and strangely enough he came round to the idea after I really tried not to mention it for a couple of months.

There are other BC's that you can use that are non hormonal so you can come off depo and start getting your body 'ready'. Look into the 'copper T' IUD, non hormonal and there's no 'oh wait a min honey and A) let me get my diaphragm contraceptive in B) lets use a condom or C) staying on hormones that have to get out of your system before getting pregnant.
Talk to your SO and explain the other options you guys have so you can come off the depo and still be able to wait to get pregnant. GL hope it works out for you.
