how did you get your man to propose

Hi all, new to this site as i was searching on ways to get your man to propose! i really dont want to bully him into it, but i have been waiting years and years! we have talked about it many times before and he always says "when we get married...." but nothing!

I've not read through all the posts, however in this day and age there is nothing wrong with the Girl proposing to the guy, agree not overly common but a possibility worth thinking about.

Paul proposed randomly (although I knew it was coming) by blowing up a balloon & wrapping it up with loads of layers & on each layer was a dofferent lovely message & the last message was "this will keep our love going forever - pop the balloon" and I pooed the balloon & my ring fell out of it!

Did you not read my post properly?? Obviously not as u would c I am not afraid of anything!! My girlfriend feels excatly the same as me for the record. We both talk about the fact we are to young to get married, which we are!! We have BOTH said sometime around 26,27,28, I havent just said those ages to myself, WE have spoken about it!! We have a very strong + honest relationship (that is y we have survived seven years straight). U do not know us so you cant judge, I am sorry we do not feel the same about this subject as you, it does not make us wrong!! She is by far the boss in our relationship, she wears the trousers so believe me mate she always says when she is not happy about anything!! She is a straight down the line kind of woman!!

I was wondering what the difference is between what you are doing now and getting married?

i feel the same as alot of people here, ive been with my partner for 6 years now and we have lived together for a year, i think when is he gonna propose to me, i get the feeling he does not want all the mither of planning and how much money its gonna cost us, it does kinda spoil it when its thought about alot because you want it to be unexpected and suprising.

Hi, new to the site, I googled "Why wont he propose" and ended up here :p
Anyways, we've been talking about it and he keeps saying that he wants to save up money to do it properly, fair enough, but what I really want is the proposal and the engagement, not a ring, I dont care if the ring is a 20 dollar replica, I just want to know that he's committed to me and that we're going to plan our lives together. I feel so frustrated! I love him, but I dont know how long I'm going to have to wait.
Anyways, I really enjoyed reading most of your posts, it's nice to see that I'm not the only person that feels this way, I'm not the only girl whose man wont propose even though that's just waht we're waiting for.

Hi, so relieved i'm not the only gal in this situation. Been with my boyf for almost 2 years. We met and both knew instantly that we were meant for each other. Moved in together after only 3 months of dating and are incredibly happy together. We talk about our future and the size of family we want. He openly talks about "when we have kids", we both want exactly the same from life. Only one problem .... he just wont propose!!! I know he wants to get married and certainly isn't scared of marriage and commitment so I dont understand what he is waiting for. He even told me on valentines day this year that he thought I would propose to him and seemed fairly disappointed that I hadn't. What is going on? Am I missing something? Help

well im in the same boat....lived with my b/f for almost 2 years..bought the house together .... get on wonderfully....but he wont marry me.
He has been married 2x before and says he wont do it again....it hurts since I dont see any reason why he shouldnt marry me.
I have told him that legally he has no rights as just my b/f and all he says is that he is committed and he doesnt need a piece of paper to prove it.
I proposed to him on the 29th Feb and he turned me down....so now I dont know what to do.
I dont want to lose him since he is the most wonderful person I have ever met.....we dont want children together since we are to old for that....so question is will he ever propose to me????

2 have my friends have recently got engaged and the jealousy is overwhelming! he isnt frightened by the idea, but the proposal never comes!?

im getting desperate now! we are planning a baby next year to, so its not like we are in a unsteady relationship! we own our house and have a cat and plan our future together all the time. but i would love to get married.

any help from anyone?

I asked him - i was fed up of asking and hinting and getting back in reply "when the time is right" we were on holiday in portugal, our 1st holiday away together and i thaught no time like now Perfect!!! So on our hotel room balcony with the sun shining i asked him ... this 4years ago now! We have been married a year But would still like to know what his "time is right" is!!!

3 & 1/2 years of living together and no proposal yet. I read evry single one of the posts thus far and it's nice to know I am not the only one but at the same time frightening. Mine makes the same camments "when we get married this..." or "when we get married that..." or has even gonein to who would be his groomsmen! Where we would have it and how large it would be....WTF!!! Why hasn't he asked? I don't get it. He knows how I feel but still gives me no indication of when this is going to happen. It is really disheartening to know that I am ready to commit my life to him and he apparently is not.

Hopefully he will wake up one dya becuase I am not willing to leave a perfect guy for my own agenda in life....waiting it is I suppose

Hi there everyone,

I am male firstly and i recently proposed to my girlfriend in Niagara Falls. She was so shocked/ surprised that she wouldnt believe me. Left me on my knee for a good minute. Had to ask her a second time. She was hysterical. we were in a relationship for 3 years

But anyway i stumbled accross this site googling wedding stuff & i couldnt stop but read this post. First of all i just laughed to myself about how ridicolously emotional, needy & non independent women are in general. But when you trawl through the posts its actually scary from a mans point of view in terms of the way you think.

My one bit of advise to all you women - if you want to get married DO NOT say to your boyfriends what you feel in your head or what you wrote down on this forum. Men will run a mile from these type of crazy "feelings" on marriage. If they dont run a mile they will just delay asking (hence the reason why its probably taking some of you so long for your partners to ask)

My take is just "let it be" if its going to happen it will happen. And believe me when a bloke says he cant afford to get engaged he is just biding time. If you want to get engaged there are plenty of options. First of all its free to ask. The ring can be purchased after & you can always have a long engagement/ low cost wedding.

I went out with a girl previously for 5 years and i never thought i was going to marry her. With my current fiance i knew after 18 months to 2 year she was definitely "the one"

Girls stop being such freaks about getting married or it will never happen
