While visiting Italy near Venice, be sure to visit San Marino the oldest republic in Europe. This nation lies on the slope of Apennine Mountains near Adrriatic Sea. The capital of Republic of San Marino is San Marino, a walled city which is perched top of Mount Titano. San Marino was founded in the 300's A.D. by Marinus a Christian stonemason from Dalmatia. Since San Marino is an independent country, it has their own government office, own post office, and own currency. San Marino get most national income from tourist, postage stamps, and collector coins and medals. This visit to World's oldest and existing republic is must for all tourist!
