I was on Cerazette for four years and then came off to have a baby. I did not have a period for those 4 years while on it (only occasional spotting). Once I came off, it took 4 weeks for me to get my period. Now after the birth of my son, I am back on Cerazette. It's nice that this pill can be taken while breastfeeding. I had an initial bleed once I started back on but have not had a period since then. (I started back on Cerazette about 5 months ago) I really enjoy not having my periods and no PMS!! For me, it was and still is a great pill![/quote]

BANG ON...Obviously certain pills aren't right for certain people..cerazette's main reasoning is because it does tend to stop bleeding almost 100%. Some women find this worrying and would rather have a period each month, whereas I personally see it as a godsend and am eternally grateful for any such hormone that can stop periods and period pains in a controlled and safe manner.
So for those that do not have periods on this pill, stop worrying and start enjoying! There are always pregnancy tests if you ever want to check up I have been on this pill for over a year and all I've ever seen is positive!
Although it does tend to increase your weight, it isn't the actual pill that does this, but the increase in appetite. So don't blame the pill, control your diet. By far the best pill out there.

hi there im new to this site and need some advice for my sister, she has been on this pill for a while now but has been feeling a bit strange on it, one minute she is fine and the next in tears, she has completely changed and used to be really bubbly but now has no motivation to go to work or anything, she has been thinking about coming off the pill but her bf and her don't want to start trying for kids as of yet... she has been on other pills like microgynon but it gave her bad migraines and also cysitis. Just wondered if anyone could give me some advice?? :D

I started usin this pill about 8 months ago and have found it better than the Oestrogen based ones, which i couldn't take because they made me nuaseus. I have periods but they are irregular and i found only occur when i'm stressed. They are lighter than i used to have when on the more common oestrogen pill and i don't suffer with period pains which i used to before. I also have noticed i no longer suffer with PMT durin my period. I have had no other problems and have found this pill better suited. Hope this helps anyone looking for a second opinion.

Hello I search for cerrrezette on the web and came accross this site because since starting on this pill I have had AF every 2 weeks for about 1 week-10 days duration. Very heavy so heavy i cant keep up with it even super max tampax dont work very long. Bad Backpain, sore boobs, pains in my cervix, very bad temper and short fuse no patience at all and the need to pee evey 5 mins. I havn't been on any contraception for nearly 3 years as i have a 2.5yr and a 12m and have been bf or pg. I'm hatting this i've only got through 2 packets and i've stopped taking them today. I feel like murdering my oh at times with the mood swings im getting. I thought it was my MC b4 taking the mini pill that had changed my body but now im convinced its not. sorry for long ramble.

 Sometimes I wonder why people don't read previous posts... yes, there are a lot of people posting about negative experiences while on this pill (which makes sense as if you're having a problem with something you're far more likely to look it up _ and post about it than if things are going good!) BUT still there are a number of posts from people posting positive remarks about this pill, including a post on this same page!!

I'm so relieved to find so many people are going through the same thing as me.
I'm on Cerazette and have been for 2 mths now.
My periods are now on a 2 week cycle and they last for 10 days so I practically have a constant period.
As if that wasn't bad enough, my moods have been awful and I feel like I can't think clearly at all, which isn't like me as I'm usually so logical.
I had also been told to stick it out by my doctor but I've been twice now and they've agreed it's not the most reliable thing for any woman so they've agreed to put me back on my combined pill.

I have been on Cerazette for 9 weeks and have found that it works for me, although I have only had one period which is the only downside as I would rather have a regular bleed. In other areas it's been great, I was put on it as when I was on Microgynon I had terrible PMT, depressed, crying, bad tempered the works since I changed to Cerazette I have had none of these.

I haven't put on weight and my skin has been fine. I think different pills have different side-effects for different people and the most important thing is to find the one that works for you.

Now I am planning on having another baby (my fourth) and have been off Cerezette for 3 weeks with no sign of my period. Has anyone else used this pill over a longer period of time before trying to get pregnant? How long did it take for the body to get back to normal?

Here's an update on my situation. I did get my period about 4 weeks after coming off Cerezette. I was so glad for the "sign" that my body was getting back to normal so quickly. Now I've just done an early home pregnancy test (it's been 4 weeks since that first period) and it's positive!!

So I can only sum it up by saying that my experience with Cerezette has been positive. I enjoyed having no periods for the 4 years I took it. My body got back to normal quite quickly after stopping it and now within my first "normal" cycle I've gotten pregnant.

That's really nice to read an update! :-) I hope it all went well and you are no bust with a lil toddler!

I'm on this pill and it's like one long PMT with spotting, periods lasting over 7 days, was about 3 days before. But I used to have the wonderful coil, then I had to have my cervix half cut off due to pre cancerous cells, so am having to choose now, lose boyfriend because he can't get used to condoms, or lose boyfriend because I'm so miserable and moody, bleeding, painfull boobs, weight gain. Sob etc. Still nice to read someone positive on here!

awwww maybe Cerazette just isn't the right pill for you? I'm sorry for the hard times you've gone through and now having hard time on Cerazette. Every woman reacts differently to the different BC pills out there... maybe you just need to ask your doctor for a different one?

And to update again... I sadly lost that pregnancy at almost 6 weeks. But my cycles remained regular and I did get pregnant again 4 cycles later and now have a healthy almost 9 month old little son. I'm not sure if I lost that first one because of getting pregnant too soon after coming off Cerazette or because of my age (I'm over 40) or because of a blood clotting disorder I have (I lost two previous babies years earlier because of this condition).

But my experience on Cerazette still remains positive and I am back on it again. The great thing is that this pill can also be taken while breastfeeding. So my experience has been a good one, but like I said, every woman is different. If yours isn't a good one, check into switching pills until you find one that works for you! Good luck! :)

I am a 19 year old in New Zealand who has been on cerazette for about 8 months now, I have had regular periods and a few irregular up til now when i am expecting one and still haven't gotten it. Its kinda freaking me out as I have taken my pill everyday. I searched and found this forum which is a bit of a godsend.
Cerazette is the best pill i have tried so far, there was Levlin first, then another of which name i cannot remember, but both gave me crazy mood swings, and i cried randomly every month up til i changed to cerazette. A family friend told me that she got depression while taking the pill, which is what could have potentially happened to me. After she went off it, she was fine. I'm not sure if there is any pill that is completely perfect, anything that messes with your hormones is not good for you. Even now cerazette is not funded by my govt so I have to pay about 10 bucks per peacket. AS for the missing the period thing, does anyone have any advice? is it something to do with the 8th month?

Ive been on cerazette for 4 years. Although its great not to have periods, my sex drive is bad and I get quite depressed.
One thing though, if like me you don't get periods, how do you know if your pregnant?. :?
