Get a more rounded toe box, with fairly chunky heels, and a 1/2" to 3/4" platform (which may be hidden on some of the more fashionable models being sold today). The platform makes an unbelievable difference in the comfort level, because it gives the shoe manufacturer more room for padding, and it isolates your feet from the irregularities of the floor/ground/street. Also highly recommend the ultra thin version of Spenco brand insoles. They use a high pressure nitrogen compressed foam rubber that I have been using for about 30 years (recommended years ago by a Podiatrist I had consulted about extreme pain resulting from running in Army ROTC class). Spenco insoles NEVER develop flat spots, even after constant wear for 1-2 years. The insole cloth wears out before the insole does. The ultra thin model was developed specifically for women's high heel pumps.
