The movie version of hit TV show '24' has finally been confirmed and is set to hit the big screen in 2008.
Reports suggest the film will abandon the real-time style of the hugely popular series and concentrate more on central character Jack Bauer - a maverick counter terrorism agent played by Keith Sutherland.
The show's executive producer Howard Gordan said: "We felt too constrained by it and we realized one day that Jack Bauer was such a strong character that he could fill the big screen."
Although no cast has been announced yet the 'Lost Boys' actor has previously said he would "absolutely" reprise his role for a movie.
He said: "It's something that we would like to shoot between the sixth and the seventh season."
"We would be able to travel a lot more, and show some different locations, and all of those things are exciting for us."
A deal has been reached between 20th Century Fox and series creators Robert Cochrane and Joel Surnow, who will write the script, and executive producer Howard Gordon.
Filming is due to start next spring and although exact locations have not been announced Sutherland has previously hinted film could be set in Europe, with shoots in London, Prague and Morocco.
