Sir Michael Caine admits he is no longer seduced by £10 million offers for film roles - because he is too lazy to get out of bed.
The 73-year-old British actor has revealed he often turns down big money contracts if the part isn't right for him because he would rather stay at home with his family.
He said: "I don't want to get up at 6 in the morning and go out do something I don't want to do with people I don't want to be with. I don't need to pay the rent.
"When you get older you need to make the most of every single day. I only work when I have one of my 'Godfather' moments, and Hollywood makes me an offer I can't refuse. It has nothing to do with money anymore."
The screen legend - currently starring alongside Hugh Jackman in 'The Prestige' - also confessed he is so idle that his wife is pleased when he works on a film because it gives her a break from him.
He added: "I'm one of the laziest people. I'm a big family man, and I love being at home. I'm a big gardener. I'm also writing a book, and I'm an amateur DJ. I have the fullest days just doing nothing. My wife actually says she's glad when I'm making a movie because she gets a rest from me."
