Sam and Amanda on their cute new single

What made you decide to record the charity single, Honey Love, why did you choose to cover Puppy Love instead of writing your own?

We wanted to choose a song that appealed to children as they were our target audience. We changed that song to Honey Love because we were working with the Honey Monster and we knew it would be loads of fun.

Who re-wrote the lyrics?

It was just our producer, they just change a few words and added in a few more things. We loved it as soon as we heard it.

Do you think it will do well?

Well because its not going to be released on television and is just going to be available for iTunes it’s not going to be a massive number one or anything but we’re just hoping that everyone recognises it as a charity song and goes and downloads it and raises loads of money for charity. We’ve had a lot of positive feedback from the children so far so it’s been really good.

What have you been doing to promote it?

We haven’t really done anything yet as we’re still learning the dance choreography but after that we’re going to be playing lots of places and we just can’t wait!

What’s the dance routine like?

It’s looking rally good and we’re keeping it quite easy and simple so that the Honey Monster can do it!

Tell me a little bit about The Variety Club and why did you choose this particular cause?

It’s because when we came out of Big Brother a lot of charities wanted to work with us but when we were at university we wanted to work with children and families and so we wanted to work with a children’s charity, and we’ve done a lot of different things with The Variety Club and so when they asked us to do this song we didn’t even give it a second thought.

What was it like working with the Honey Monster?

Oh my God it was so much fun! It was so surreal because he’s on the adverts and when we see him on the adverts now it’s like “Oh my God we met him!”

Was he well behaved or was he naughty?

Yeah he was well behaved definatley!

Were you two dead naughty?
No! It was just really good on the video because we were having a laugh and dancing and we had a pink limo and he had a grey hummer.

Have you been watching this years Big Brother?

Yeah

Who do you love?

We like Lisa and Rachel. I think Lisa was really cute on the programme when Mario proposed and she said yeah and then she started crying. We want to see Lisa win definitely.

Who don’t you like?

We’re not much of a Mo fan because he’s boring and greedy, he’s just greedy Mo. There’s not much to him so we hope he goes out pretty soon. Darnell as well, he’s supposed to be one of the favourites but we can see that he has a game plan certainly and he doesn’t deserve to win.

Do you still keep in touch with your old housemates?

Yeah, all the time. We’re really close to Brian, Liam and Ziggy and we also talk to Carol, Seany and Jerry so it’s really good.

Do you have any regrets about going on the show?

No, not at all, we think it was an amazing experience and a lot has come from it such as music and presenting so without the show we wouldn’t be doing what we’re doing now.

We ask everyone we interview to come up with a question for the next person we interview....and US rock band Shinedown want to know; “Do you have any pre-show rituals?”

What does that mean?

It means is there anything you have to do before you go on stage and sing?

On the way to places we put Girls Aloud on so we get in the mood or when we’re waiting if we get nervous we have a joke about and we feel better.

What would you like to ask the next person I interview?

If you could work with any female singer who would it be?

Find out who Shaggy would like to collaborate with very soon!
