Al Pacino has hailed Robert Downey Jr's recent return to form as "wonderful".
The 'Righteous Kill' actor said the 'Tropic Thunder' star's renaissance since his troubled years battling substance abuse - including jail sentences for missing drugs tests under the terms of his probation - is inspiring.
Speaking at the UK premiere of 'Righteous Kill' in London, Al told BANG Showbiz: "I think it's sensational. I think it's wonderful. That he would come from where he had to where he has now, knowing all the time he was a genius and to see it manifest this way and see him overcome it is what we all love, isn't it?"
The 68-year-old Hollywood legend also gushed about 50 Cent, who co-stars with him in the new cop thriller.
He added: "It was great to be with him. I love his music, why do you think he's in the movie?
"But his music's got nothing to do with his acting, that's its own thing."
