1 month ago 01st Dec 06:22

Britney Spears wants contro; of her life again as she tries to prove to her father she is well enough to take care of herself - after growing fed up of having a chaperone with her at all times while on the road to recovery.

The pop star's every move is being monitored by her father Jamie, on the orders of a court, following two hospitalisations earlier this year (08) and a series of public meltdowns.

And while Spears has seemingly managed to put her life back on track since her father was awarded conservatorship of her affairs, she insists she craves the personal freedom she once enjoyed.

Speaking in her new tell-all Mtv documentary, Britney: For The Record, the star says, "I want my life back. I want to be able to drive my car. I want to be able to live in my house by myself. I want to say who's going to be my security guard."

I want my life back. I want to be able to drive my car. I want to be able to live in my house by myself. I want to say who's going to be my security guard.

In other related news the recovering singer Britney Spears celebrated her 27th birthday early on Saturday night (29Nov08) at Britain's premier gay club.

The pop star, in London for an appearance on TV talent show X Factor, stopped by the G.A.Y. event, where she was presented with a cake, decorated to look like the cover of her new album Circus, which is released on her birthday (02Dec08).

Fans serenaded the singer with Happy Birthday as she beamed down from a V.I.P. balcony.
