Michael Caine's sequel doubts

3 months ago 25th Jul 13:30

Sir Michael Caine says it would be difficult to make a sequel to 'The Dark Knight'.

The British actor - who plays Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred in the latest Batman movie - insists everyone involved would find it hard to better the current adventure.

He said: "I think this one will be such a success it will be difficult to do a sequel because we've done one and we've topped it, obviously, and now we've got to top this.

"It's difficult because we've already broken US box office record. We've got to break our own record. It's hard."

'The Dark Knight' - which stars Christian Bale as Batman and the late Heath Ledger as super-villain The Joker - has so far taken over $203 million in the US.

Caine admits he is extremely proud of the movie, adding: "This is something. It's not just the best Batman but it's one of the best movies. It really is."
