This Diwali, two great civilizations... will wish they had never met! "Chandni Chowk to China" is an action-comedy about a simple cook from Chandni Chowk mistaken for the reincarnation of an ancient peasant warrior Liu Shengh by residents of an oppressed Chinese village.
The film earlier known as Mera Naam Chin Chin Choo and also Made in China, is written by Sridhar Raghavan who also wrote Khakee (2004) and Bluffmaster (2005).
"Chandni Chowk to China" is said to be semi- autobiographical film potraying actor Akshay Kumar's life. Shooting began in January 2008 and included a schedule in China.
Nikhil Advani later announced that Deepika Padukone will be essaying a double role in the film. The music in this film is directed by Kailash Kher and his band Kailasa.
Spearheading the film’s cast is reigning emperor of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar, who’s recent release, Singh Is Kinng, was the biggest Bollywood grosser in the UK, US, India and Middle East of all time.
He is joined in the film by Indian starlet Deepika Padukone, Chinese Martial Arts expert and actor Gordon Liu (Kill Bill Volume One & Two), and Roger Yuan (Lethal Weapon 4, Bulletproof Monk, Ell Enchanted). Kung Fu lovers can also eat their hearts out with elaborate action sequences courtesy of veteran stunt director ‘Huen Chiu Ku’ of Oscar winner Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Matrix (2 and 3), The Forbidden Kingdom, Lethal Weapon 4 and The Mummy fame.
