While the eighties brought us the rise of the blockbuster and cinematic icons such as E.T and Indiana Jones the decade also provided us with a new crop of acting talent collectively known as the Brat Pack.
A play on the 1950s Rat Pack the group consisted of the likes of Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Judd Nelson and Demi Moore and they all frequently appeared together in teen-oriented movies that found major success during the decade including The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire.
Female First looks at the careers of the group's core members and asks whatever happened to the Brat Pack?
After being a major component of the Brat Pack Estevez moved on to lead the Mighty Ducks to victory in the 1992 release, which has become a cult hit.
After some less than successful movie roles Estevez turned his hand to directing working in both television and movies.
His last picture saw him bring together an impressive cast of Anthony Hopkins, Elijah Wood, Martin Sheen and Demi Moore, to name just a few, for Bobby, a fictional account of the lives of the people inside the Ambassador Hotel on the day Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated.
For his next project he has directed, written and produced The Public which is currently in post production and is expected to be released next year.
