Reckless Sons have their bags packed and are all ready to embark on their first UK tour. FemaleFirst chatted to Matt Butler to find out how his nerves were holding up and to find out a bit more about the band as a whole.

You are about to embark on your first UK tour, how does that make you feel?

Coolest thing in the world – really excited – totally pumped – was terrified before we arrived but now totally into it.

For all those people who are still to hear about you, how would you describe your sound to them?

Rambunctious rock and roll / American rock band.

How did you come up with the name ‘Reckless Sons’?

I am the black sheep of the family / younger brother / wild one – came up from it like that!

What makes you different from all of the generic band who are trying to break onto the scene at the moment?

Well the only ones putting on real live shows – real true sense rock and roll shows / timeless sound and sustainable, not trying to play to trend.

If you were to compare your music to another band, who would it be?

Influenced by The Replacements / Rolling Stones / The Clash.

What musicians do you look up to?

Bruce Springsteen / Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan

Where does the inspiration for your songs come from?

Day to day existence / basic things in life / being mad / being love / getting drunk.

If you could work with any band or singer, alive or dead, who would it be?

The Replacements / Bruce Springsteen

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

Our first UK gig in Brighton – Joogleberry

Where would you like to be in 10 years?

Still playing to much bigger audience and rocking the house
