Princess Diana's controversial T-shirts

6 months ago 22nd Apr 14:00

A controversial T-shirt featuring an image of Britain's Princess Diana above the slogan, 'She's dead, so get over it', has gone on sale.

The garment - which sells for £25 - was made by Australian designers Goatboy, who said they wanted to make an "ironic comment" over the publicity that still surrounds the princess almost 11 years after her death.

Goatboy creative director Adam Hunt said: "We've had Diana china memorial plates, tacky Franklin Mint figurines, and the endlessly touring exhibitions of her musty old frocks.

"Now after six months of the shamelessly lurid inquest - isn't it time we all got over it?"

Adverts for the T-shirts feature fake pictures of Diana's former in-laws, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, wearing the tops.

The inquest into Diana's death ruled she and lover Dodi Fayed were "unlawfully killed" by the negligence of their driver Henri Paul and the paparazzi who followed their car until it crashed in a Paris underpass on August 31st 1997.

However, many Diana fans and Dodi's father Mohamed Al Fayed, still claim the couple were killed by the British establishment as they were about to announce their engagement.
