Thailand's Queen Sirikit has donated money to three hospitals following violent clashes in her country.
The royal has given 800,000 baht (around £13,000) to the public facilities treating those injured in the clashes between anti-government protestors and police in Bangkok on Tuesday (07.10.08).
The Royal Household Bureau revealed the queen has requested the donations she made to Vajira hospital, Phramongkutklao hospital and Ramathibodi hospital are used to cover the medial expenses of those injured in the riot.
The clashes left two people dead and hundreds of demonstrators from the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) injured.
Many patients have been treated for wounds and burns, while several lost their limbs.
About 20 police officers were injured in the clashes.
The demonstration turned violent on Tuesday morning when police fired tear gas at protestors outside parliament.
