Everton captain Phil Neville has signed a new four-year deal.
Neville, 31, had two years remaining on his current contract.
Former Manchester United player Neville, mainly a full-back at Old Trafford, has been used primarily as a defensive midfielder by Everton manager David Moyes and helped the club to a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League last season and Uefa Cup qualification.
Since joining Everton in the summer of 2005 for £3.5m - a move Neville described at the time as "the most difficult decision I have ever had to make" - the England international has secured two top-five finishes with the club and played in Europe.
Neville has made 131 appearances for Everton and scored three goals.
