The commentator has been honoured with a star on the Walk of Fame of Birmingham.
The legend is the latest to be given a star on the city's Broad Street.
Born in the Hall Green area of the city in 1923, he became as famous as many of the drivers he commentated on.
He said one of his career highlights was watching Brummie Nigel Mansell win the Formula One World Championship.
Mr Walker has also recently released his autobiography.
Other West Midlands celebrities to have been given a star on the Walk of Fame include rock stars Ozzie Osbourne and Noddy Holder and comedian Jasper Carrott.
